Call 811

Know what’s below.

Call before you dig.

Southwest Electric supports and participates in the Mississippi 811 system.  The 811 system is a nationwide call center that helps homeowners and contractors coordinate the marking of buried utility lines.

Mississippi 811 encourages anyone preparing to do a digging project to call at least two working days before you intend to dig.  This includes planting a tree, installing a mailbox and building a fence.

Whether you are planning to do it yourself or hire a professional, smart digging means calling 811 before each job.  Buried lines can be electric, gas, communications, water or sewer.  Damage to these lines can lead to service interruptions, injury, costly repairs and fines.

Visit the 811 website.  You can also call 811 or 800-227-6477.
